We are halfway through 2024. We crossed off Easter, the day everyone becomes Irish and America’s birthday. But we are far from done. Especially when it comes to the world of television. Here are a few shows premiering in the last half of the year that we are excited to see.
1. Squid Game Season 2 – Premiering December 26, 2024

Nothing says Christmas like murder games and capitalism. The survival drama Squid Game returns for its second season the day after Santa comes to town. So while you’re stuck in the weird limbo between Christmas day and New Years Eve, stuffed with cheese and unsure of the time, you can tune in to see what twisted new games the show runners have thought of this time. According to the official summary, Player 456, the victor from season 1, returns with resolve. He joins the next round of The Squid Games, but now instead of a price, it seems like he is looking to bring the system down.
Our prediction? Gi-hun might make it to the end, but this time, he won’t be the ultimate victor, setting the stage for a new protagonist in future seasons.
2. From Season 3 – Premiering September 22, 2024

From, the series that hasn’t made a lick of sense since the first episode, is back for its third season. We’ll be honest – we don’t think that the writers even know what’s going on with these characters. Every episode brings more questions with it. But that’s the appeal of this crazy suspense show.
While we assumed the big focus of the season would be Tabitha being teleported through the lighthouse, it seems like we have a different story. A new villain emerges in the season 3 trailer and from the looks of things, it seems that Boyd and his gang are not the only humans stuck in this weird paranormal world. These new villains might be part of the original inhabitants of the town or even have connections to Victor.
Despite the ongoing chaos and the show’s increasingly complex plot, we are extremely excited to have this show back. Right around spooky time too!
3. Yellowstone – Premiering November 10, 2024

The story of the Dutton family is reaching its climax with the final season of Yellowstone. With Kevin Costner’s departure from the show, it seems likely that the first half of the season will be John’s death and his children’s reaction, plus a whole lot of montage. Beth has said multiple times that she only fights for the ranch out of loyalty to her father and would immediately try to sell it if he died, so the logical conclusion seems to be that she will do just that. However, Beth must deal with Jamie, assuming he doesn’t “deal” with her first.
As long as Beth and Rip live happily ever after, we will consider this season finale to be a success.
4. You – Premiere Date TBD

Finally, the final season of You will premiere sometime this year. While we weren’t given an exact date, we know the story of Joe Goldberg and his baseball cap will be concluding before the new year. Season one of this show made us fall in love with Joe Goldberg and root him on during his questionable choices, season two made us wonder if this man would ever change, season three made us Team Love and season four was, well, kind of boring. However, we are looking forward to seeing Joe get the justice he deserves and seeing the plethora of tragic storylines (that he caused) finally get some resolutions.
In the final season, Joe returns to New York City alongside his wealthy partner Kate. We expect he may try to gain custody of his son and of course, find some unexpecting woman to become obsessed with.
The rest of 2024 looks to be jam-packed with entertaining television (House of Dragon isn’t the only show in the world guys!) thanks to these exciting projects that are in the works. There’s something to look forward to whether you enjoy psychological thrillers, passionate family sagas, otherworldly mysteries, or survival dramas. So, grab your snacks and your snuggies, and get ready for a fantastic new round of entertainment!
